Why this site uses AI

The short version

I use AI tools to help research, draft, and check the pages here. Every page is still read, verified and signed off by me before it ships. This is a site about using AI well, so it made no sense to write it while pretending the tools don't exist.

Time and cost

There is no company behind this site and nothing for sale. It is a personal project, maintained in the hours around a normal working life, and it stays free to read with no ads. The subject moves monthly: model names, prices, regulatory dates and security guidance all shift, and a reference that isn't kept current is worse than no reference at all. Doing that sweep entirely by hand was the original plan. It lasted about a month.

AI assistance is what makes the maintenance sustainable. It does the wide reading and the first drafts; I decide what is accurate and what gets published. Without that help the site would simply go stale.

Accessibility

The same tools help keep the writing plain. Dense source material, a regulation or a security advisory, gets reworked into language that doesn't need a background in the field, and the site's own accessibility guidance applies here too: AI drafts, a person checks. Plain language is an access issue as much as a style preference.

What AI doesn't do here

It doesn't decide what the site says. Facts are checked against primary sources, fast-moving pages carry dated citations you can follow, and two automated checks run on every build: one for malformed metadata, one for prose that reads like a machine wrote it. When something on this site is wrong, that's on me, not on a tool.

The obvious question

Yes, a site that keeps telling you to verify AI output is itself made with some AI help. The advice holds because it's followed here: everything is read, checked and dated before it ships. If you spot something that slipped through, the About page explains how to tell me. Corrections are the fastest way to make this site better, however they arrive.
