A reference you might act on should show its working. This list is the site's edit history in plain terms, newest first. Factual errors get their own log on the corrections page.

26 Sept 2026

  • Updated "Which Copilot is which?" for Microsoft's renaming of its Copilot products, and replaced its test for the paid licence with the label Microsoft now shows in the apps.
  • Refreshed the first-week Copilot guide with the renamed app, the new Work IQ switch and Microsoft's published US prices.
  • Refreshed the Copilot rollout guide with Microsoft's new licence request page and how access to Cowork is actually granted.
  • Refreshed "Copilot Notebooks and Pages" now that emails and meetings can be sources, and the Copilot app carries a lighter version of Notebooks.
  • Refreshed "Analysing data with Copilot in Excel" with the new ways to see exactly what Copilot changed in a workbook.
  • Refreshed the Cowork guide for the new models and scheduled tasks, and flagged the approval setting worth leaving alone.
  • Refreshed "Copilot agents at work" for Microsoft's September changes, including which agents cost extra and the identity each new agent now gets.
  • Updated "Claude Sonnet and Opus, explained" for Claude Opus 5.5, which replaced Opus 5 on 22 September, and for the higher usage limits that came with it.
  • Added "Model updates: September 2026", covering the new Claude and GPT-6 models and which of them reached Copilot.
  • Added "Agent security: attackers are running agents too", the September edition, on OWASP's incident data and Anthropic's latest threat report.
  • Added "Open-source model roundup: September 2026", covering Qwen3.8 and GLM-5.3.
  • Archived the three July editions that now have September successors. Each opens with a pointer to its replacement, and the pages that sent you to them as the latest now send you to September's.
  • Added a section to the About page on what the site records about visitors, and a line saying the author also takes paid Microsoft 365 and AI automation work through OWENLABs. The pages themselves stay free, with no adverts, affiliate links or sponsored content.
  • Refreshed "Where does Copilot send your data?" with what actually leaves in a web search, and where Microsoft's EU Data Boundary stops when Claude does the work.
  • Refreshed "Prompt injection" against OWASP's 2026 Top 10, including instructions hidden in images and the test OWASP now endorses for agents.
  • Refreshed "MCP servers, explained": the specification is unchanged since July, and the page now covers the project's identity work and Microsoft's server certification.
  • Refreshed "Run an open-source model locally" with September's compact models and the newest frontier-scale releases, now sourced to the labs themselves.

23 Aug 2026

  • Rewrote all nine Copilot pages for the person who was handed the licence rather than the person who administers it. The workplace words, tenant and seat and sensitivity label, are now explained where they first appear.
  • Every Copilot page now says which settings are yours to change and which belong to whoever runs Microsoft 365 where you work.
  • Added a way to tell which Copilot you have: ask it something only your own files could answer.

19 Aug 2026

  • Added "Claude Sonnet and Opus, explained", on what actually changes when you switch between them in the Claude app or in Copilot.
  • Noted on the tokens page that a change of tokeniser shrinks what a context window holds while the headline number stays put.
  • Added "Copilot Cowork, and when to hand over a whole task", covering what it does, what it costs per task, and where to start.
  • Added Cowork to the Copilot product map and to the agents explainer.
  • Cut the source notes under the fast-moving flag down to one line, keeping only the caveat specific to each page.

18 Aug 2026

  • Added "Copilot Notebooks and Pages, and when to use which".
  • Added this changelog and the public corrections log.
  • Rewrote the About page to say who writes the site and why.
  • Added a byline to every article.
  • Added a dark theme that follows your system preference.
  • Added an RSS feed, linked in the footer.
  • Narrowed the reading column from roughly 80 characters to 72.
  • Extended the writing checks to cover the site's interface text, not just its articles.

  • Added "Your first week with Microsoft 365 Copilot".
  • Added "Copilot agents at work, explained".
  • Added "Analysing data with Copilot in Excel".
  • Added "Rolling out Copilot without regretting it".
  • Added "Which Copilot is which?".
  • Added "Prompt engineering, separated from the folklore".
  • Added the prompt gallery: 21 copy-ready prompts with the reasoning behind each.
  • Filed every page under a task as well as a topic, so you can browse by what you are trying to get done.
  • Reworked the writing on all 40 existing pages against a documented voice baseline.
